FAKE HONEY?

Being a high value product it becomes prime target for fraudulent adulteration with Cane sugar, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Invert Sugar, Rice Syrup etc. Adulterated Honey loses the Medicinal Values of this Golden Nectar.

PBTI- PIONEER IN HONEY AUTHENTICITY TESTING

PBTI is FIRST in the country to provide NABL Accredited Honey Authenticity Testing facilities using Stable Carbon Isotope Ratio Analysis (SCIRA). The facilities for Honey Authenticity Testing include Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometer technique hyphenated with Elemental Analyser and Liquid Chromatography Interface (EA-LC-IRMS). These facilities were setup and made operational in 2015 with the financial support of Ministry of Commerce & Industry, GoI through PSIEC, GoP to support the exporters of the region. The detection of C4 plant sugars (Corn or Cane) in honey was included in the scope of NABL Accreditation and EIC Approval in 2017.
